FormaTurf achieves ISO recognition

A commitment to quality and continuous improvement

FormaTurf, Sport Group’s innovative recycling business that not only keeps synthetic turf out of landfill but keeps it within sport via second-life products for sports stadiums and outdoor spaces has achieved ISO 9001 certification.

An internationally recognized standard for quality management

The certification was a team effort, with strong leadership collaboration between Dr. Marco Rehosek, FormaTurf’s senior global expert, Dr. Sven Hamann, Sport Group Global Director R&D and Technology / Global Director Recycling and Manuel Linz, Head of HSE & IMS global .

The ISO 9001 certification is an internationally recognized standard for quality management systems. It helps companies to optimize their processes, increase customer satisfaction and promote continuous improvement.

As Dr. Marco Rehosek, explains:

“The ISO 9001 certification is a great way for a company to show customers and business partners that it adheres to high quality standards and is committed to continuously improving them.”

An exercise in global and local collaboration

And it’s a quality assurance that isn’t dished out lightly. Preparation for an ISO 9001 audit requires a thorough review and documentation of all relevant processes and procedures, that, in FormaTurf’s case, required expert execution by global and local teams across multiple departments. The global quality team, led by Dr. Marco Rehosek and Manuel Linz coordinated the various departments and ensured smooth communication and collaboration with the German-based local team. Together, they achieved the certification in just six weeks.

ISO certification is continuous

The emphasis on continual improvement ensures that ISO certification is ongoing and demanding. Just as all processes were analyzed and, in some cases, optimized where the initial internal audits identified weaknesses, so this process will continue throughout the lifespan of the business.
