Sport Group’s 2022 ESG Report

Sport Group is committed to evaluating and enhancing our business with ESG reporting and methodology.

ESG reporting provides value by promoting transparency, managing risks and building customer confidence. It plays a crucial role in promoting sustainable and responsible business practices and has become an integral part of our business.

Our first ESG report covered 2021, and with our new 2022 ESG report, we dive deeper into the individual sustainability topics within Sport Group and provide a more detailed insight into our ESG activities.

The 2022 ESG Report has a much stronger focus on our sustainability targets and milestones in the key areas and provides an in-depth look at our strategies and key achievements.

Environmental protection, human safety and sustainable development have long been an important consideration for Sport Group. Our commitment to athletes extends beyond merely offering athletes a sports surface; it includes ensuring optimal conditions for them to unlock their full athletic potential with safety and comfort.

Climate change presents one of the most pressing challenges of our era. It is imperative we take a proactive approach and contribute to mitigating climate change.

In addition, we recognize that our responsibility extends beyond the athletes themselves to the environment and wider society, which is why we work hard to implement green technology throughout our product portfolio.

For example, our latest flagship product, Poligras Paris GT zero, which was developed for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, is the world’s first carbon zero hockey turf. This turf is made from 80% sugar cane and is manufactured using green electricity.

“Climate change presents one of the most pressing challenges of our era; representing a global crisis with profound implications for our lives and the environment. It is imperative we take a proactive approach and contribute to mitigating climate change,” said Christoph von Nitzsch, CEO Sport Group.

Sport’s intrinsic value is the health and fitness it provides for individuals, teams and communities. This can also extend to environmental health, so throughout our whole business and across all our global regions, we are focused on developing greener sport surfaces that not only protect our health but also our planet.

Our 2022 ESG report presents a transparent view on where we are now and where we want to be.
